Lorisa P. Lewis, MS, LMHC, LLC
Lorisa Lewis obtained her BS in Psychology from Florida State University and her MS in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida in 1985. She became licensed as a Mental Health Counselor in 1987 and has had an established private practice in Central Florida since 1989. Having been a horsewoman for more than half of her life, merging horses with therapy has been a natural fit for her . In addition to her clinical psychology training, she is also trained and internationally certified as an Equine Assisted Psychotherapist and Equine Assisted Learning Practitioner by the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association, Inc. (EAGALA). In 2004 she established Vertical Limit Equine Assisted Growth & Development which offers equine assisted therapy services, team building workshops, professional trainings and retreats as well as equine assisted program development and consultation. She has extensive experience in the areas of PTSD and trauma and has presented at numerous professional conferences on both trauma treatment as well as equine assisted therapy techniques. She has served as an adjunct professor at Valencia College in Central Florida training therapists wishing to specialize in PTSD and advanced trauma-related treatment methods. She currently works in both Central and South Florida, where she developed and directs Stable Foundations equine assisted family therapy.
