What is Equine Assisted Learning?
EAL (Equine Assisted Learning) is quickly gaining favor as a powerful technique within the corporate training and team-building world. Utilizing much of the same techniques as EAP, EAL differs in the goal of the process and the client base being served. EAL addresses areas such as organizational development, coaching, human development, education enhancement, increasing professional productivity and other related fields within the corporate arena.
In EAL, the work stops short of “therapy” while it explores interpersonal issues as they relate to the workplace. Teams work together to learn more effective communication skills, alternative leadership styles, creative thinking and problem solving skills that are directly transferrable to the daily work environment. Organizational support is then offered following the learning experience to enhance sustainability of learned skills and long term effectiveness. Participants learn more about themselves both as individuals and as integral parts of their work community.
